AFFLICTIONS OF RIGHTEOUS

TODAY'S TOPIC:
AFFLICTIONS OF RIGHTEOUS;
TEXT: PSALM 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Therefore the "Afflictions" meanings suffering from being in one organisation or under the emblem of union. As a christian suffered under the emblem of Jesus Christ. It might be inform of Trials, temptation, tribulations, etc.

Wherefore as a christian if you are encounter problems in your life because of doing good under the emblem of Jesus, dont Denny Him or say detestable words.
Take examples; JOB, EZEKIEL, ELI, ISREALITES, etc.
This are the set of people were afflicted, but irrespective of their " AFFLICTIONS" they didn't deny God. Sometime there's reason why God allow Satan to afflicte you.

WHY GOD ALLOW US TO FACE AFFLICTIONS

  1. TO DRAW US CLOSER TO HIM
  2. TO TEST OUR FAITH
  3. Deutromony 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
  1. TO TEST OUR LONG PATIENT
ROMANS 5:3 And not only so , but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; JAMES 1: 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

  1. TO PREPARE US OUR FUTURE
DEUTRONOMY 8:16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

BE IN GOOD COURAGE EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE AFFLICTED

  • Be thankful for temptation and tribulation; examples! Paul and Silas in prison. JAMES 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; PSALM 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
  • Helping those that are afflicted: GALANTIANS 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ; JOB 6:14 To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
  • Encourage them and strengthen them: MATTHEW 4:1-7

  • Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

    • And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
    • And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
    • But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
    • Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
    • And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
        Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou       shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

    HOW TO OVERCOME TEMPATION
    1. Set your heart to Jesus Christ
    2. By unseasoning prayer: MATTHEW 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
    1. By having the Fear of God: 1-PETER 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1-SAMUEL 12: 24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
    Therefore I encourage you in your affliction not to deny Him, and also strengthen those who are afflicted. Also keep His words of commands to overcome affliction by so doing He will always be with you, ISAIAH 43:1-2 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called
    thee by thy name; thou art mine.
    When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. JEREMIAH 42:11 Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

    Dear brother, never deviate from His words no matter what, you may face in life, He will one day raising to save you. Amen.
